Goulburn Valley Wineries

The Goulburn Valley is a large and predominantly flat region. With over 300 days of sunshine per year the climate is warm and there is a plentiful supply of water from the Goulburn River. This results in grapes that reach their full flavour maturation. Shiraz and Cabernet are just two of the most popular varieties grown in the area but it is also known for its Chardonnays and Southern European varieties such as Barbera, Sangiovese, Verdelho, Pinot Gris and Viognier. The Glenrowan area, famous for its association with Ned Kelly is renowned for its rich complex reds.
