'Twelve Acres' Wines
Peter and Jana Prygodicz pride themselves on producing unique wines of a style, which is theirs alone. The name Twelve Acres comes from the fact that the block where the winery is situated, has always been 12 acres in size, even though the surrounding blocks were large, at least a thousand acres. The winery is located in Bailieston, which can be found between Rushworth and Nagambie in an area known for gold and ironbark. Peter and Jana control all the aspects of production from crushing the grapes to bottling and packaging in a winery which runs on solar power and generators. The grapes come in from a number of small grapegrowers, who have special plots for 12 Acres grapes. The close relationship built up with the growers ensures an excellent quality of grapes.
